- Briefing : Initial discussion to establish ideas for the design.
- Site Survey : Spot level measurements and accurate linear measurements taken. Features such as garden statues, trees, ponds are recorded on the survey. Analysis will also include aspect of the garden, screening requirements, soil type etc.
- Concept Drawing : Based on initial discussions and the site survey, showing the key areas of the garden according to proposed use, such as hard landscaping, planting, garden features. This will be hand drawn and will explore the layout of the garden. This stage can take several attempts at getting the ideal space and we may have more than one meeting to reach the next stage.
- Master Plan : Scaled detail such as position of paths, fencing, walling, patio area, planting areas (without individual plants at this stage), and accompanying notes on materials and technical details on such items as drainage, steps, walling etc. My plans are hand drawn to scale at this stage.
- Specification Details and technical drawings : Specification document and technical drawings when required.
- Planting Plan Once the Master Plan has been agreed a detailed planting plan will be drawn up showing the new planting area and where the plants are to be set out. All plants will of course be appropriate to the soil conditions as well as aspect in your garden.
- Pricing and implementation : The plan can be used as a basis for quoting for the work.
