Hello!

My name is Jean Lanham and I am a garden designer based in Prestwick on the beautiful west coast of Scotland.

I have a passion for design as well as gorgeous planting and love creating exceptional gardens for my clients.

However large or small the plot I can work with you to create a beautiful garden in which to enjoy time with family and friends.

In winter when we don’t venture outside as much, it’s an added bonus if there is seasonal interest in the garden such as berries on evergreens, flowering winter shrubs or structural seedheads which also provide food for wildlife.

I can undertake a major planting project and overall design as you can see if you look through the gardens on my site.

Planting Design

“Right plant, right place”… so true!

When choosing plants, it is important to consider the aspect, soil, exposure and several other natural elements. I can help by designing a beautiful planting plan which will grow successfully in your garden.

I have several years’ experience of gardening in Ayrshire in plots with very different situations so I have a good idea as to what plants will thrive. I can also help with seasonal pots, raised beds and individual herbaceous or shrub borders.

Garden Design

If you feel your garden is not working for you, I can help by creating a lovely, joyous space for you to enjoy.

To create a garden which reflects your lifestyle we would first meet on site and I would then take a detailed brief which is ultimately translated into a design.

Prior to drawing the plan, I commission a topographical survey of the plot to ensure accuracy in levels and dimensions.

I work with trusted local landscapers who can carry out the build with care and accuracy and I remain involved throughout the process.

Garden Consultation

A full garden design is a commitment which some may not be ready for.

You might be stuck for inspiration or have some ideas for your garden that you would like to share with a professional designer.

I can offer a one-off consultation to help you come up with a practical plan to make straightforward alterations resulting in a beautiful space for you to enjoy and relax in.
